They were best friends until they became roommates.

Booker Harris has spent the last several years pushing himself to become the best goalkeeper in the Championship League. Tired of living in the shadows of his headline-splashing brothers, he has finally carved a path of his own.

As a child, Poppy McAdams was content in her own little make-believe world, until the boy next door with dimples and pained eyes came barreling into her makeshift fort demanding all her attention.

Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University.

Now she is back, and gone is the awkward girl from Booker’s youth. She has been replaced by a stunning woman with secrets. Secrets that Booker is desperate to know.

Sharing a bedroom wall with your best friend from childhood quickly turns to anything but sweet and innocent.

This is the first book I've picked up by Amy Daws, but I have had my eye on her soccer romances for a long time now. I mean, with covers like that, who wouldn't? While Booker may be the youngest of the Harris brothers, he's definitely not the last brother I plan on reading about now!

Booker Harris is living his dream as a football (soccer here in America) player alongside his brothers. When he gets a message from his best childhood friend that she's moving back to England, he doesn't hesitate to offer up his flat for her to stay in until her's opens up. Poppy left England brokenhearted and ready to start fresh, but six years later and she's sure she's over her feelings for Booker. But the moment she's sharing space with him, Poppy feels those old feelings coming back. Poppy isn't the same 18-year-old girl she was when she left and Booker is confused for the things he's feeling for her, feelings that are definitely not best friend feelings. But can the two risk losing their friendship to see what this newfound attraction has in store for them?

Have I mentioned that I love everything that has to do with England? Because I do. The fact that these characters are British and living in England made me love this book ten times more. And I already loved this book as it is. You can never go wrong with a friends-to-lovers romance, and I loved how Booker and Poppy hadn't seen each other in six years. Booker is a man now and Poppy has really changed and blossomed as a woman. It was so fun watching Booker take in the new Poppy and try to ignore how attracted he was to her. Of course, Poppy had already had feelings for Booker before she left, but it was nice how she didn't let that cloud her judgement when it came to trusting Booker again.

Since Booker is a soccer player, I loved the moments we got of him playing soccer and working out. Of course he's going to be in amazing shape being a professional athlete and it was fun how Poppy could appreciate how defined his physique had become. What also made this book so good was the fact that Booker had such a big, loving family that was a huge part of who he was. I loved every moment the family was together and how important they were to Booker and the decisions he made in life. I am definitely going to pick up the other books in this series so I can watch all of the other Harris siblings fall in love.

If you haven't picked up a book by Amy Daws and you're a sports romance lover, you HAVE to check the Harris Brothers series. These boys are irresistibly talented and infuriatingly addicting. Their fierce loyalty to their families and the women they love is admirable and you won't be able to help but swoon with each turn of the page.
